The 2011 Quilt Festival is a celebration that includes a three day show of Juried & Judged quilts Friday (9:30-5), Saturday (9:30-5), Sunday (10-4) at Maple Hall and the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. $10 donation, includes entrance to both venues, below.

Maple Hall:  Juried & Judged show, demonstrations by Nancy’s Needlers, specialty vendors, silent auction, and quilt appraiser, Beverly Dunivent. Beverly will be available for quilt appraisals for a fee, by appointment only. Call 360-466-4288.

La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum:  featuring “Mixed Greens” by the Pacific Northwest African American Quilters; “Together” by Canadian fiber artists paired with artists of other Media; and a special exhibit of “Spirit of the West” by the Association of Pacific West Quilters.

Four days of fabulous workshops and quilt events are taking place within walking distance of Maple Hall & the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. While in La Conner, enjoy the six-week long Quilt Walk in La Conner Shops.  

 

Call for Entry 2011:

We invite you to enter our first International Juried & Judged Show, sponsored by the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum, to be held September 30-October 1, & 2, 2011. We are looking for pieces in the following categories:  Traditional, Non-Traditional, Wearable Art, and Eco-Green. Winning entries will be featured in a special exhibit at the La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum titled “AWE:  Award Winning Entries” from October 5 -December 30, 2011. Deadline for entry is June 15, 2011.

Events during the 2011 Quilt Festival

Quilt Walk in La Conner Shops ~ September 1 – October 15, 2011; featuring quilts from the Tri-City Quilter’s Guild of Southeast WA. Download your map here in late August.

Quilt Festival Awards Banquet. Be among the first to know who has won the awards for our First Juried and Judged show. Join us at our annual banquet on Thursday, September 29, 2011 at 6pm. The Award Winners for the 2011 Quilt Festival will be announced during dinner. After dessert we will take a short stroll to Maple Hall for a sneak peek of the winning quilts. Treat your spouse, partner, or sewing friends to a delightful evening at the La Conner Seafood & Prime Rib House and Maple Hall. Tickets for the banquet go quickly so make your reservations early before it is fully booked. Call 360-466-4288 for reservations.

La Conner Quilt & Textile Museum. Exhibits during Quilt Festival:  “Mixed Greens:  Saving the Earth One Quilt at a Time” with quilt artists from the Pacific Northwest African American Quilters and “Together” a pairing of fiber artists with other media artists from Canada. We will also be exhibiting the ”Spirit of the West” quilts, the Association of Pacific West Quilters’ newest traveling exhibit.
